Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale

 

 

We skipped the light fandango

Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor

플로어를 가로질러 카트휠을 하면서 우리는 가볍게 판당고 춤을 추었죠

I was feeling kind of seasick

나는 마치 배멀미를 하는 것 같았지만

The crowd called out for more

사람들은 더 하라고 소리를 질러댔어요

The room was humming harder As the ceiling flew away

방안은 천장을 날려버릴 듯 점점 더 소란스러워졌지요

When we called out for another drink

우리가 술한잔을 더 청하자

But the waiter brought a tray

웨이터가 쟁반에 술을 받쳐왔지만

And so it was that later

너무 늦은 일이었어요

As the miller told his tale

밀러가 자신의 이야기를 하기 시작하자

That her face at first just ghostly

그녀의 얼굴이 처음엔 유령처럼 하얗게 질리더니

Turned a whiter shade of pale

점점 더 창백하게 변해갔어요

She said there is no reason

그녀는 아무런 이유도 없다고 말했지만

And the truth is plain to see

진실은 명백하게 보였죠

But I wandered through my playing cards

그러나 나는 카드 게임에만 빠져있었어요

And would not let her be one of the sixteen vestal virgins

Who are leaving for the coast

그리고 그녀를 해안으로 떠난 16세기 수녀처럼 만들지 않으려 했죠

And although my eyes were open

비록 내 두눈은 뜨여있었지만

They might just as well been closed

감겨있는 것과 마찬가지였어요

And so it was later
